Leeco® Steel offers eight grades of ABS-certified steel plate for use for shipbuilding.
What Is ABS Steel Plate?
ABS steel plate is certified for use in shipbuilding applications by the American Bureau of Shipbuilding. This material is comprised of higher-strength steel that is produced to withstand harsh maritime conditions.
Overview:
Available in four ordinary-strength grades: A, B, D and E.
Available in 12 higher-strength grades, but Leeco® only readily stocks grades AH36, DH36, EH36 and FH36. Other higher-strength grades may be special ordered.
May be certified to meet multiple specifications (such API 2H) on Mill Test Report, but guaranteed to be certified to meet ABS standards.

Applications
ABS steel plate is commonly used in the marine industry for the building of structural parts of ships, barges and marine equipment.
Why Use ABS Steel Plate?
ABS steel plate is standardized and highly regulated to meet necessary specifications for use in maritime applications.
With great strength and toughness, ABS plate grades can also endure strong forces from waves and wind without breaking or failing.
Material Properties
The following material properties are ASTM A131 specifications as required by ABS and will be confirmed on the Mill Test Report. Elongation is dependent on plate thickness, but is listed in a range below.
